American Bresse Chicks (Dual purpose breed for Eggs or Meat)

The American Bresse is an American take on an iconic French breed of poultry. Proudly displaying the colors of the French flag, Bresse have large red combs, bright white feathers, and steel blue legs. The Bresse, while rare in the U.S., has been around for over 500 years. These dual-purpose chickens are hardy, easy to raise and keep, active foragers, and have a great temperament.

Bresse hens average 5-6 eggs per week. Eggs are a great quality of this breed, Hens will usually start laying at 4-5 months and will lay eggs colors ranging from white to light brown. Mature hens will lay  XL eggs.

Bresse are in high demand because, like beef, they can have marbled meat. This chicken really tastes like no other — imagine the juiciest grilled chicken breast ever.

Muscovy Ducks (sometimes called "quack-less" ducks)

Muscovy Ducklings are COMING BACK SOON!

Muscovy ducks (Cairina moschata) are one of the only ducks not descending from the Mallard breed. Originally native to Mexico, Central and South American, they eventually found there way to the US. Acting more like chickens than ducks, they don't quack, need little water and do well in the heat. Drakes weigh around 10-15 lbs and the hens around 6 to 10 lbs. They are excellent flyers and have claws to help them roost, so clip the wings on one side to keep them around. Their meat tastes more like veal or beef than duck.

They are great additions to the backyard production, great egg layers and excellent brooders. Their eggs are much healthier than chicken eggs as well and many people with chicken egg allergies choose duck eggs as an alternative.
